Community Guidelines

0w0 works because people are decent to each other. These are the rules that keep it that way - written for humans, enforced for real.

Last updated: August 26, 2026

0w0 exists so people in furry, anime, gaming, cosplay, and creative fandoms can find each other through what they love. That only works if the space stays safe for the people who are most often pushed out of online spaces.

Kindness is the house rule. Everything below is a specific version of it. Breaking these guidelines also breaks the Terms of Service.

The house rules, in short

  1. Ask before you escalate - sexually, emotionally, or into another app.
  2. "No" and silence both mean no. Move on.
  3. Nobody's identity is up for debate.
  4. What happens in a chat stays in that chat.
  5. Credit the artist. Always.
  6. Everyone here is an adult, and everyone here stays an adult.

Sexual content

0w0 is an 18+ app, but it is not a hookup app and it is not an adult content platform.

  • Never send unsolicited sexual content. Not in a first message, not in a wave, not in an avatar, not in a profile. This gets accounts removed quickly.
  • Profiles and avatars must be safe for a coffee shop. Explicit avatars, sexualised poses, and fetish-first profiles do not belong in a discovery feed that everyone sees.
  • If a conversation goes there and both of you want it to, that is between you - but it starts with an ask, not a picture.
  • Sexual content involving minors, or characters presented as minors, results in an immediate permanent ban and a report to the relevant authorities. There is no appeal.
  • Never share intimate images of someone else. Ever, for any reason.

Harassment and hate

None of this is allowed, and none of it is a grey area:

  • Attacking people over race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, body, or age
  • Slurs, including "ironically" and including reclaimed ones aimed at someone who has not reclaimed them
  • Misgendering someone on purpose, or arguing with their stated pronouns
  • Mocking someone's fursona, kin, identity, or fandom - "just banter" is not a defence
  • Threats of violence, or telling anyone to hurt themselves
  • Following someone across matches, accounts, or platforms to keep contacting them
  • Organising or joining a pile-on

Gatekeeping counts too. Nobody has to prove they are "really" part of a fandom to be here.

Other people's privacy

A lot of people on 0w0 have very good reasons for keeping their fandom life separate from the rest of their life. Respect that absolutely.

  • Never post or share someone's real name, address, workplace, school, phone number, or other accounts
  • Never link someone's 0w0 profile to their identity elsewhere without their explicit say-so
  • Do not screenshot a private conversation and share it - inside 0w0 or outside it
  • Threatening to out someone is a permanent ban

Be actually you

You do not owe anyone your legal name or your face. You do owe them honesty about the basics.

  • Do not impersonate a specific real person, an artist, a brand, or 0w0 staff
  • Do not lie about your age or your relationship intent
  • One account per person
  • Do not make a new account to evade a block or a ban

Art and credit

This is a community built on people making things. Act like it.

  • Only use art you made, commissioned, or have permission to use
  • Credit the artist in your profile when the work is not yours
  • Do not trace, do not repost, and do not pass off someone else's character as your own
  • Do not upload AI-generated images as commissioned or original art

Cosmetic collections made with artists carry the artist's name in the app, and they are paid for it.

No selling, no scams

  • Do not ask matches for money, gifts, or crypto - including "just to help out"
  • No advertising, no recruiting, no dropping your shop link in a first message
  • No commercial sex work solicitation
  • No romance scams, no investment pitches, no phishing links

Talking about your art or your commissions with someone you have actually been chatting with is fine. Treating your matches as a mailing list is not.

Adults only

0w0 is 18+ and stays that way. If you are under 18, you cannot be here - this is not gatekeeping, it is how we keep the app safe for everyone.

If you believe an account belongs to a minor, report it immediately in the app or email [email protected]. We treat these reports as the highest priority we have.

Reporting and blocking

Block and report are two taps away from every profile and every chat. They are never buried in a submenu.

  • Blocking is silent and immediate. The other person is not told. Neither of you appears in the other's feed again.
  • Reporting sends the relevant context to our moderation team. The person you reported is never told who reported them.
  • You do not need to be certain before reporting. A wrong report costs nothing; a report you did not send can cost someone a lot.
  • Filing reports in bad faith to punish someone is itself a violation.

If you are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. Then tell us at [email protected] so we can act on the account.

What happens when a rule is broken

We weigh how serious it was, whether it was deliberate, and whether it has happened before. Depending on that, we may:

  • Remove the content and send a warning
  • Limit features - waves, chat, or discovery - for a period
  • Suspend the account temporarily
  • Ban the account permanently

Some things skip straight to a permanent ban: anything sexual involving minors, credible threats of violence, sharing intimate images without consent, doxxing, and ban evasion.

If we action your account, we will tell you which rule was broken. You can appeal once by replying to that notice, and someone who was not involved in the original decision will review it. See Moderation in the Terms for the formal version.
